History

It all began in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the iconic Ala Moana Shopping Center. In 1994, Speed Gear was established, quickly becoming the premier high-performance automotive shop and store in the Pacific. We were renowned for housing the largest collection of authentic Formula One gear, sourced from some of the sport’s greatest teams and drivers.

Our collection included Ayrton Senna’s steering wheel from his Toleman car, Michael Schumacher’s steering wheel from both his Ferrari and Benetton cars, and Rubens Barrichello’s from his Stewart Racing car. Additionally, we showcased an array of helmets from legendary drivers, including Aguri Suzuki.

The story of How Fast, Fucking Fast began with our customers’ curiosity about the capabilities of an R5 Turbo 2. It all started on our local racetrack, where no other four-cylinder car could outperform the nimble R5. Customers would ask, “How fast can it go?” Our answer? “Fucking fast.” It became the only way to describe the sheer thrill and performance of speed at its peak.
